Fingers crossed for 2022 – we’re hoping for a big year for Portishead and Clevedon. This is all about the new skateparks earmarked for both towns. Maverick have been selected to partner both the Clevedon Skate Project and the Portishead WASP group to develop new sprayed concrete facilities. Clevedon will also see a new pump track created by Velosolutions, especially built for bmx, skateboards and scooters. Skateboards

There is no better time to get practicing. With fast progress being made with the skateparks 2022 is going to be a year you just don’t want to miss out. Our North Somerset coastal community will soon become a Mecca for skateboarding. Last Resort will be there to support it all the way. And that starts with getting you fixed up with a new board.

Whatever your budget we have something to get you rolling. I’ll cut to the chase – the best budget board for around £50 is a Fracture complete. If you can afford a bit more then that’s just great. Because then you should really take a good look at the excellent Birdhouse, Globe, Mini Logo and Powell Peralta complete skateboards. Just remember about sizes. All of our completes and decks have the width measurements. Little kids should really consider the mini completes, anything up to a 7.75″ width. Kids from 9 years old are ideally suited to 7.75″ and 8″. Bigger kids and adults can go wider. We have completes that go up to 9″ if that’s your thing.

Cruiser skateboards are a different kettle of fish. They come in all shapes and sizes. Last Resort recommends Arbor cruisers for their quality. You can’t go wrong with Santa Cruz either. Scooters

This Christmas, more than ever, is the best time to get a new stunt scooter. While we see price rises and inflation across most industries the best scooters for some reason are holding their price.
